Format date column as m/d/yy

How can I format a date column with a 2 digit year (m/d/yy)?

I tried this and it still shows 4 digit years.

        <GridColumn Field="@nameof(TrxModel.SettleDt)"
                    HeaderText="Date"
                    Type="ColumnType.Date"
                    Format="m/d/yy"
                    Width="90">
        </GridColumn>
