Annotations not maintained after saving and reopening document.

Hi. I'm adding a custom stamp to a document and then saving it, however, when I reopen that document in the editor the custom stamp no longer appears. Is there a way to fix this? Below is how I'm adding the custom stamp to the drop down options and how I'm saving the document. Interesting side note... if I simply download the document directly from blob storage I can see the stamp. Additionally while running my pdf viewer service locally, if I add the stamp, save it, download directly from blob storage to verify stamp is present, reopen it in the editor (stamp doesn't appear), and then click save again I can see the stamp in the stamp collection of the json object of the download function of the viewer service (although the base64 of the stamp is different)... but when I download the document directly from blob storage again the stamp is gone.

Hi Luke,

Thank you for contacting Syncfusion support.

We suspect that the reported issue occurs because of loading the PNG image in the PDF document. At present, there is no support to save and load the image in PNG format in our PDF Viewer. Currently we have provided the support only for the jpg and jpeg image formats. We have already logged the feature “Support for saving and loading the custom stamp annotation in PNG format” and the implementation will be included in any of our upcoming releases.

Now, you can track the status through the below link.

Hi Vasugi.

Understood. I changed it to JPG and now it appears. Thank you!

Have you had any experience with the issue of not being able to make JPG transparent? The background of the stamp could potentially cover important text as a JPG.

Hi Luke

JPG/JPEG can't support transparency because it uses RGB color space. To support transparency, the format should contains the alpha value. PNG is the image format that uses RGBA color space which support transparency.

As we mentioned earlier, there is no support to save and load the image in PNG format in our PDF Viewer, and we will provide the PNG image support in any of our weekly release.

Desika
