How to change the Color for Parent to Child Arrow and color for chevron / overflow button / arrow

Hi,

I tried very hard but couldn't able to find the way to change the color of arrow which are appearing when we have child bars under parent bar, in that case an arrow > appears to denote there  are more bars. Those arrows and chevron are by default black and in my case, back color of the XPToolBar is also black.

How can i change the color of those arrows and chevron.

Please refer to the attached screenshot for better understanding of the issue.

Thanks

Hi Rakesh

Thank you for using Syncfusion Products.

We have checked your query and found that Chevron color should be white in Office2016Black theme . We have consider this as bug and logged a report on this.  The patch for this fix is estimated to be available on 18th June, 2021.

You can track the status of this bug using the following feedback link

However we are unable to observe that the Arrow of the Parent to child is black in Office2016Black in our sample. The arrow is visible correctly at our end.

So please check the sample and screenshot and let us know whether our replication on the reported behavior is same . Else please modify our sample to issue reproducible, it would be helpful for us to check and proceed on it further.

Also confirm whether your used theme is Office2016Black or some other theme in XPToolBar. It would be helpful for us to proceed on it further.

Hi,

Thanks for reply, Find the attached updated project.

It is not only about the chevron. yes  chevron color is one issue but there is another too.

Steps to reproduce the issue.

Add a parent bar as 'Time' on tool bar
Under Time, Create another parent bar as 'Minute'
Now Under Minute create 2 - 3 bar items.
Set Black Color as give in below commands
Now arrow on 'Minute' bar will be invisible due to black color. That should be save color as text.

Hi Rakesh

Thank you for your update.

We were able to observe the arrow color not visible at our end on customizing the metro color. On further analysis, we have updated the arrow color according to the different Skinmanager themes in XPToolBar and it has been working fine correctly for the VisualStyle Office2016Black. The arrow remains white on black background of  Office2016Black theme, However whenever you customizing Metro and MetroBackcolor, it might be in difference in color of particular element of respective control. Since these properties has not been implement according to each Syncfusion control. These properties are of common properties used to customize the control and text colors. So we recommend you to use the same visual style for whole application.

Please let us know if you need any other assistance on this.

Hi,

That seems illogical as in any case arrow color should be the same as Text Color.
Office2016Black generating dark grey color not more darker color described in material theme.

In any case arrow color should follow the text color. if you don't accept it as bug then i can't say anymore.

Thanks,

Hi Rakesh,

Thank you for your patience.

We have fixed the reported behavior “Arrow color text should not be black on customizing the XpToolbar” and patch for the same can be downloaded from following links.

Recommended approach - exe will perform automatic configuration.

Assembly Version: 19.1.0.54

Installation Directions:
This patch should replace the files "Syncfusion.Tools.Windows”  under the following folder.
$system drive:\ Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\$Version # \precompiledassemblies\$Version#\[TargetFramework]
Eg : $system drive:\Program Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\19.1.0.54\precompiledassemblies\19.1.0.54\4.6

To automatically run the Assembly Manager, please check the Run assembly manager checkbox option while installing the patch. If this option is unchecked, the patch will replace the assemblies in precompiled assemblies’ folder only. Then, you must manually copy and paste them to the preferred location or you must run the Syncfusion Assembly Manager application (available from the Syncfusion Dashboard, installed as a shortcut in the Application menu) to re-install assemblies.

Please try this patch and let us know if it is resolved at your end.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed reply, I checked with latest version 19.2.0.44 and still problem remains same.

chevron and overflow button / arrow is still black on black background.

Thanks for your support.

Hi,

There were few other issues observed in 19.2.0.44 so I need to rollback the version to 19.1.0.54

When I rechecked with the provided files for 19.1.0.54, it looks working fine as expected. Can we use updated assembly?

Thanks
