Overriding template editing of a Kanban Card

I wish to open up a custom dialog when I double-click on a card.

I added a handler for the DialogOpen event to start a dialog (not Synfusion) but the app still brings up the default edit template for the card.

How do I suppress the default edit dialog?

    <KanbanEvents TValue="ApplicantCard"   DragStart="OnDragStart" DragStop="OnDragStop" DialogOpen="OnDialogOpen"></KanbanEvents>

Accomplished by adding "args.Cancel = true;" 

on DialogOpen and on CardDoubleClick.

Is that the right / best way?
