Can't add Main Tab Item on RibbonControlAdv

Dear all,

I'm starting to use ribbon controladv and I started a new project taking the control from nugget package. I'm facing a problem with right selector to edit, add or customize that is not showing anything.

See below the picture of my project as reference and see the second one that should be. It's there any changes from the previous version?

Thanks in advance,

Rafael Camara

Hi Rafael,

Thank you for contacting Syncfusion Support.

We have checked the reported behavior that you does not got smart tag in our latest version for RibbonControl. However we are unable to reproduce it. We could able to observe the smart tag and can able to add tab inside ribbon. Please find the video and sample for the same and it can be downloaded from following location:

So could you check the same and confirm us whether our replication is correct. Also confirm your target framework.
So please ensure it with again by cleaning the bin and obj files of your solution and also if you still faces an issue kindly provide us video that shows the issue, it would be helpful for us to proceed on this further.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem.

Just started a new C# windows form application. When adding the ribbon to a form (RibbonForm) the smart tag doesn't appear in the designer.  And I'm not able to add tabs or buttons to the control.

I'm targetting .net 5.0. and  using nuget packages version 19.1.0.69.

I've found other control which complain about the same.  When targetting the new .net framework, the smart tag is not present.

Kind regards,

Thanks for your update.

We have analyzed your requirement that you does not got smart tag in our latest version for RibbonControl in .net 5.0". As this feature is not available in our product, we have already added it to our feature request list, but we don’t have any immediate plans to implement this feature. At the planning stage for every release cycle, we review all open features and included this in any of our upcoming release. We will let you know when this feature is implemented. The status of implementation can be tracked through our Features Management System.

Your compatibility page indicates that your controls support Winforms on .Net 5. This includes the Ribbon. But in my own testing, it's not working in the Windows Forms designer. In the documentation, it states that we need to use the smart tag to add things to the ribbon. This is working fine in the .NET Framework, but is not working at all in .NET 5.

This person is not asking for a new feature. They are asking why is the ribbon not working as designed in .NET 5 with the windows forms designer.

This is a bug. A bad one and it needs a priority fix as it makes this part of the controls worthless to any developer on .NET 5.

Hi Michael,

Sorry for this inconvenience.

We have checked the reported issue “Ribbon control does not support Winforms on .Net 5” however we are unable to reproduce it. We can able to add the RibbonControlAdv in the Windows Forms designer. Please refer the sample and video for the same.

For Smart tag support as per our previous update we does not have smart tag support in Winforms on .Net 5 for RibbonControl and we have added it to our feature request list.

Please check this sample and video and let us know if you need any further assistance on this.

Regards,
Elakkiya
