Grid - column type Date Weird Format when editing

So when I use the column type Date, I get a really weird format, everything is right to left! Even if I try manual entry, the cursor moves right to left effective putting the date in reverse!! In am using US Eng. It displays ok, just when I try to edit does it have problems!
