Copying from DocumentEditor to word messes up the document

Hello,

So, I was trying to copy text from the document editor to Microsoft Word and I found out that the pasted text gets formatted in a wrong way.
I download the document and opened it with word and it worked fine, but obviously the issue is with copy/paste.

It doesn't matter what the text is, just fill out a document with text and copy it to word and you'll notice it get loses its formatting.

Thanks,

Hi Kurthis,

So, if you check the attached document. This document has been created by syncfusion document-editor.
When you download it and open it with MS Word, it works perfect.

But when you open it inside of the document-editor and copy the text to MS Word, you face an issue of words get broken across lines.
So, a single word gets broken between two lines which is not correct.

Also, text size is not correct.

Thanks

Hi Omar,

Regarding: Strikethrough formatting has been getting loosed

We have considered the reported scenario as bug and logged defect report. Fix will be included in our upcoming EJ2 patch release which is tentatively scheduled on March 31, 2021. Once included, will update you. You can track the status from the below feedback.

Regarding: Copy paste of words get broken across lines.

Upon validating the shared document, we found the whole content is with the same formatting (font size, font family, etc.) but the internal representation of the content is separated for each word.
Expected:
Hello world

Actual:
Helloworld

Could you please share the details on the source of the content which is pasted into the Document Editor? This will help us to validation the behavior and share the details at the earliest.

Regards,
Kurthis Banu A.

Hi Kurthis,

The content is just normal text copied from the document editor to MS Word.
If you try to fill a document with three or four lines, then copy this text to MS Word.
You'll notice that words break across lines.

Thanks

Hi Kurthis,

First I created a new blank document using Syncfusion DocumentEditor, then I copied the text to MS Word.

Hi Omar,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We need extra time to validate it because for the same file structure the MS word rendering is different for the shared text.

Please find the document structure of the copy/paste content and the typed content.

In the above screen shot the first paragraph is the copied content from DocumentEditor, second paragraph was typed manually in the MS word. Here when typed the words are layouted properly for the same file structure. We suspect this could be a behavior or a break in MS Word application itself.

We will update the further details by 19-March-2021.

Regards,

Kurthis Banu A.
