Drag and Drop folders into file manager

Hello,

I actually want to be able to drag and upload folders directly into the file-manager from my local machine.

Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support. 
 
We have checked your requirement with FileManager component. Currently, we have not provided support for folder upload in FileManager component because this functionality is not support by all browsers(browser compatibility), yet. This feature has implemented and working properly in the Chrome browser(v13.x) only. Other browsers (at this time: Edge, Firefox and Safari) are starting to support subsets of Chrome’s APIs and behavior. You can find more details about this feature support from this link. However, we have considered your request and logged a feature request in our database. The support for this feature will be included in any of our upcoming releases. Though, this support in File manager will only work in chrome browser only, until other browsers fully support this functionality.

Hi Keerthana,

But I'm using chrome, and when I try to drag a folder I get '(failed)
net::ERR_ACCESS_DENIED
' error.
It's not able to reach for backend, given that uploading files works perfect without any errors.

Hi Omar, 

As mentioned earlier, currently we do not have folder upload support in FileManager and considered this as a feature from our end and you can track the status through the provided feedback link. Could you please provide us some clear details on your scenario in which you face the issue with FileManager to assist you promptly.

Alright then, is it possible to option for uploading a folder (no drag & drop here) ?

We have considered both the drag and drop upload and dynamic upload option as a feature. While integrating this in FileManager, we need to ensure this in several cases. For this reason, this has been considered as feature in our end and we will include this in any of our upcoming releases. Please track the previously shared feedback for feature status.

Sorry for the inconvenience.  

The feature “Upload folder support in File Manager” is not planned for the upcoming volume release. We will update you once this is planned for any one of our upcoming releases.
