Saving a document as docx turns a single page document in a multiple pages one.

Hi,
there's a bug concerning save as a .docx feature: page height grows and a single page document turns in a multiple page doc, losing WYSIWYG expected behaviour.

You can reproduce the bug in your online editor: https://ej2.syncfusion.com/demos/document-editor/document-protection/index.html opening the attached model.sfdt doc and saving it as a docx: you'll get a two pages doc but the original one was a single page doc.

May you fix this bug or help me to find a workaround?

Currently we are checking on the reported issue. We will update further details on this by Dec 23rd,2020. In the meantime, can you please share the original document by which you have generated the shared SFDT?

Hi,

    i ran into the same problem.
I created a sfdt document with header, footer and text in body directly from the online editor (https://ej2.syncfusion.com/demos/#/material/document-editor/default.html).

We have attached a video in which we tried some steps for reproducing the reported scenario in our end. Kindly download it from below link. But we couldn’t face the reported issue. 
 
 
Please confirm whether we tried to reproduce in the same as reported. if not, kindly share the video on how to reproduce the reported scenario in our end or If you have opened any document and saved, please share that original document.

Thanks for sharing the details. 
 
We have considered the reported scenario as bug and logged defect report. Fix will be included in our upcoming EJ2 patch release which is tentatively scheduled on Jan 6th, 2021. Once included, will update you. You can also track the bug fix status from below link.

We are sorry for not making this possible to include the fix in our latest EJ2 patch release. We will include this fix in our next patch releases which is tentatively scheduled on January 20th , 2021.

We are sorry for not making this possible to include the fix in our latest EJ2 patch release. We have fixed the reported issue but in testing we faced issue in the some documents. We will include this fix in our next patch releases which is tentatively scheduled on January 27th , 2021.

Hi Antonio, 

We are working on it. As it relies on the core style hierarchy construction we are cautious on the fix which could lead to a performance issue as well. Also it requires a intense testing to ensure the fix in all possible cases.

Hi Antonio, 
 
Please find the custom package for the reported issue. 
 
 
Please find steps to use custom package. 
1.      Extract the custom package provided in the above link. 
2.      Copy the items inside the folder. 
3.      Then go to the sample location in this navigate to the folder  node_modules\@syncfusion. You can see the ej2-documenteditor folder. 
4.      Then paste it inside the ej2-documenteditor folder. 
Then build and run the project. 
 
We will include the fix in our next patch release which scheduled on February 17th,2021, without further delay.

We are glad to announce that our patch release (v18.4.43) is rolled out successfully and In that release, we have added the fix for reported issue.

We have logged another bug to resolve the reported issue which we are facing because of style properties. We will include the fix in our next EJ2 patch release which scheduled on May 5,2021. 

You can track the status of bug through below feedback link: 


Note: The Syncfusion Document editor component makes sensible decision when layout the text, and other supported elements while paginating the document content for displaying page by page. But however, there may not be guaranteed pagination with all the documents compared to the pagination of Microsoft Word.

Hi,

I found that the error is still present in the editor.


In fact, if you try to export the attached document is always generated on 2 pages.

Could you fix this bug?

We have checked the provided video. Can you please try importing the exported document in Documenteditor and let us know facing 2page issue in Documenteditor also? 
 
 
Note: The Syncfusion Document editor component’s document pagination (page-by-page display) can’t be guaranteed for all the Word documents to match the pagination of Microsoft Word application. For more information about why the document pagination (page-by-page display) differs from Microsoft Word
