ConvertToPDF async?

In an application that generates Word documents and converts them to PDF, I have noticed that the ConvertToPdf steps takes between 5and 10 seconds under heavy load. The site produces 110 PDF's in 150 seconds. In itself a reasonable performance, but the ConvertToPdf is a synchronous call blocking the thread. 

Is it possible to get an asynchronous version of this method?

Essential DocIO doesn’t support for asynchronous ConvertToPDF method. And there is no plan to implement at our end. To achieve your requirement, we suggest you to perform Word to PDF as Asynchronous in the sample application. Please find the sample for your requirement from the below link:
