Embbed data and databases into a cloud?

Hey guys!

I have a question regarding data integration. I'm still new in the field and I'm just doing a little testing and trial and error myself, so I don't know much about it yet. If I write something incorrect, please correct me.

So it's about databases and the question if you should integrate them including the data into a cloud. I've read that more and more people are doing this to ensure data integrity, security and better performance. There are also so-called DBaaS providers, such as Aiven or something like that, who make it possible to outsource databases to clouds. With the help of the provider, you can therefore administer and manage all databases or data. Maintenance is also carried out there, if you wish. Otherwise it is an open source application in itself.

Has anyone already had experience with this? Is it worth the effort? After all, you could connect several databases with each other, couldn't you?

It would be cool if someone would tell me his opinion, because I'm not sure if this would be feasible for me with my current knowledge. I am currently using MySQL databases.

Best regards

Hi PaulNet,

Thank you for contacting Syncfusion Support.

Syncfusion Data Integration Platform is an ETL tool which is totally different from DBaaS.  Please find the below table to know their comparison.

DBaaS
Syncfusion DIP
DBaaS is a cloud service which is used to provide a database without installing a physical hardware or a software in your system.
Syncfusion Data Integration Platform is an web application based ETL i.e., Extract Transform Load tool where you can perform ETL tasks such as moving sets of data from one or many datasources to another. We can also transform data from one format to other by using Syncfusion Data Integration Platform.

Please find the below link to see the list of data sources that can be connected by Syncfusion Data Integration Platform.

Aiven is an DBaaS provider and requires additional cost for scheduling data flows
Syncfusion Data Integration Platform has in-built scheduling for all data sources.

For getting started with Data Integration Platform please refer the below links:

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
