Word to PDF, Delete a blank page

Hello, when creating a Word document and adding a table to it, a new blank page with the "paragraph mark" symbol is added.
On the Microsoft website, it is recommended to either reduce the font for the "paragraph mark", or convert the document to PDF.

How can you remove this blank page in a Word document? If this is not possible, then how to remove the blank page after converting to PDF?

Hi Andrey,

Thank you for contacting Syncfusion support.

Please find the details for your queries below as follows:

Reg – “How can you remove this blank page in a Word document?”
The Word document is a flow document in which contents (paragraphs, tables, etc.,) will not be preserved page by page; instead the contents will be preserved sequentially section by section. Word viewer/editor renders the contents of the Word document page by page dynamically when opened for viewing or editing. This page wise rendered information will not be preserved in the saved file level. So, it is not feasible to remove the blank page from the Word document.

After converting PDF, you can use Essential PDF library to remove the blank page from the PDF document.

Please find the below knowledge base article explains how to delete blank pages from an existing PDF document,

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I work in Xamarin Android, can I use libraries for this?
Syncfusion.Pdf.Portable
Syncfusion.Compression.Portable
With these libraries I don't have the ExtractImages() and RemoveAt() methods

Hi Andrey,

Thank you for your update.

Regarding RemoveAt() method:
On further analysing with the given screenshot, we have found that you have used the wrong code snippet to remove the page (In KB, the mentioned code is working fine). Please refer the below highlighted code snippets to achieve the same at your end,

//Remove page by index
loadedDocument.Pages.RemoveAt(i);

Regarding ExtractImages() method:
Currently Essential PDF doesn’t have the support to extract images from the loaded PDF document pages in Xamarin Platform. We do not have any immediate plans to implement this feature. At the planning stage for every release cycle, we review all open features and identify features for implementation based on specific parameters including product vision, technological feasibility, and customer interest.

Based on our present commitments and the above parameters, this feature is expected to be implemented in our 2021 Volume 3 main release. We will let you know when this feature is implemented.

Disclaimer: The date for the feature implementation is tentative and not a commitment on our parts.

The status of the feature can be tracked through below feedback link:

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Suriya Balamurugan.
