How EnablePersistence works on components?

Hi,
i have a page with 2 dataPicker to filters results in my grid. I've enabled the  Persistence of component but if i change page of resfresh page the datapicker doesn't store the last selected date. 
I set the ID of compent( I have read this note: The state of the component is retained during navigation or refreshment based on ID. Make sure to set an ID for the component to store the component’s state in the browser.").

How Persistence works? is it store and set my last value in automatic or not?

We have confirmed the reported issue (“EnablePersistence is not working for our DatePicker component”) as a bug at our end and this fix will be included in our upcoming patch release scheduled on 17th June 2020. We appreciate your patience until then.
