Read xslb-files

I'm having xslb-files which I can open in Excel and LibreOffice but not with XlsIO.
I found similar questions dating back to 2016 en 2012:
https://www.syncfusion.com/forums/103117/-xlsb
https://www.syncfusion.com/forums/121324/cannot-locate-workbook-item-xl-workbook-xml

Are there plans to add support for the xlsb-format?
For now, I'll use a Powershell script to convert the files to XLSX first.

Hi Paul,

Greetings from Syncfusion.

Currently we have no support for XLSB files. We are in the process of analyzing the feasibility for reading and writing XLSB files. We will share the analysis details on 21st February 2020.

Regards,
Keerthi.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your patience.

We have analyzed the feasibility to provide support for XLSB format, and estimated that it would require around 600 working hours approximately to implement the following modules.

  1. Workbook with Data
  2. Number Formats
  3. Charts
  4. Styles
  5. Conditional Formatting
  6. Data Validation
  7. Table
  8. Pivot Table
  9. Auto Filters
  10. Sorting.

We may also use some of the existing XLS and XML records during implementation.

We will plan to provide support accordingly.

Regards,
Keerthi.

Hi,

I would like to know if you  provide support for XLSB format, I'm trying to save a file in xslb format and I got this exception: System.NotImplementedException: 'The method or operation is not implemented.'

Thank you,

Hector Rodriguez

Hi Paul,

We have limited support in XLSB format such as number, string, date-time, Boolean, formulas, and basic cell styles. Other major features are not supported in Xlsb format. For that only, the exception is thrown. So, please mention the features that are used in your Excel document, which will be helpful for us in investigating the query.

Regards,
Ramya.
