Hi Edo,

Syncfusion Greetings!

Currently there is no support for comments in read only mode. Could you please explain your use case scenario in detail about using the comment feature in readOnly mode.

We need it for document approval, the situation is, there is a person with no permission to edit content but have an obligation to approve/reject the document that already made by someone else, and give the reason for his decision via comment feature. Any idea?

Thank's before
Edo

Hi Edo,

I had similar requirement. I did the following...

  1. When document in review mode just show the toolbar item for comments.
  2. Set handler for keyDown which consumes all key strokes in editor canvas
    1. editor.keydown = handler
    2. The handler receives argument arg
    3. arg.isHandled = true, stop propagation, prevent default action
Hope this helps.

Prashant
