Saving a word document using ConvertToPDF and maintaining page size?

We have some MSWord documents that are 8.5" x 14".

We are opening those documents using DocIO, placing text in a few bookmark locations and then saving those documents as both DOCX and PDF files. 

For some reason when saving those files using ConvertToPDF a third blank page is added.

How do I prevent the extra page from being added?

We have tried to reproduce the issue using the provided details, but it works fine in our end. We suspect that the reported issue might be specific to the input Word document. 

So, could you please provide us the below details to procced further in this.

1. Input Word document
2. Code example used for adding text content to the bookmark
3. Code example used for Word to PDF conversion.
4. Current product version 

Note: If you have any confidential data in your Word document, please replace with some dummy data and provide us the same. We just need your document to recreate the problem you face in your end.
