We are able to reproduce the reported issue. This issue arises when expander button renders in a template column. We will inform about this issue to the concerned team and update you further issue details on October 3, 2019.

Thanks for the patience.  

We have considered the reported “Expand/Collapse icon rendered twice for treeview template column when escape key is pressed in cell editing” issue as a bug and logged a defect report for the same. Fix for the reported issue will be included in our upcoming patch release and which is expected to rolled out in the second week of October 2019.
