Edit event in div (or Grid) instead of popup modal

Hello,

I need help finding a good practice to make my event editable in a Material ui Grid (or just a simple div) instead of poping a modal in the center of the window.

I think I might have to do it with the popupOpen prop.
I am using javascript ES6.
