EDIT: I'm sorry, I believe I put this in the wrong thread. I made a new post in the WPF thread as I'm dealing with the Syncfusion c# .net libraries. https://www.syncfusion.com/forums/145219/merging-slides-from-two-powerpoints-using-the-insert-method-and-not-using-the-sourceformatting-paste

Please delete if this is indeed the wrong thread.

Hello,

I'm running into a very frustrating issue with merging 2 slides from one PowerPoint into another PowerPoint. I have it working just fine using the .Add(slide, pasteoptions, sourcePres) method that adds the slide to the bottom of the PPTX, however I need to place the 2 slides in a particular spot that is dynamically determined in earlier code. I have been trying to use the .Insert(int location, islide slide) method on the Presentation.Slides object, but I'm getting really inconsistent results with the master slides and layouts not adhering to the source slides at all and instead I'm seeing random master slides and layouts being applied which messes up the colors and font styles.

Again, when using the .Add() method which allows me to use the SourceFormatting for the paste options works perfectly fine. I'm curious if there is something I'm missing that will allow me to use the Insert() method and also the SourceFormatting options too so I can put the slides in a particular location?

Thank you.

Hi Joshua,

Thank you for contacting Syncfusion support.

At present, we do not have support to “Insert slide with Formatting” in our Essential PowerPoint library. We have logged a feature report. We have planned to implement this feature in our upcoming 2019 Volume 3 release which is estimated to be available in the end of September tentatively.
The status of the feature report can be tracked through the below link:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Hello,

That is great news of the launch of the new version. Definitely looking forward to trying it out.

I did check in Visual Studio with one of our projects that currently references these packages:
  • Syncfusion.Compression.Base
  • Syncfusion.OfficeChart.Base
  • Syncfusion.Presentation.Base
  • Syncfusion.Licensing
Of those 4, only the Licensing package has the 17.3.0.14 update available in NuGet package manager. The other 3 still have 16.4.0.42 as the latest available.
Is the plan to update those on NuGet shortly?

In the other ticket I created on the same day as I thought I put this in the wrong category, I was told that this new version would be on NuGet: https://www.syncfusion.com/forums/reply/145219 see the bottom comment.

If it just takes a bit longer for Nuget to the update, that is fine. I just want to confirm that eventually it will.
Thank you!

Hi Joshua,

Thank you for your update.

Please find the details for your queries below as follows:

Is the plan to update those NuGet shortly:
Yes, all our NuGet packages are already updated to the latest version (v17.3.0.14). Once our release is rolled out, we will update all the NuGet packages in nuget.org. Since you have mentioned that your NuGet package manager shows that the latest package version as "16.4.0.42", we suspect that there might be some problem in the NuGet manager, because v16.4.0.42 version is one of our older NuGet version. We have successfully rolled out 3 release after the mentioned version including the latest release 2019 Volume 3 release "v17.3.0.14".

We request to uninstall all the existing NuGet packages from NuGet manager and install the new packages from the below link which contains the requested feature with "Insert slide with Formatting".
https://www.nuget.org/packages/Syncfusion.Presentation.Net.Core/17.3.0.14

Please let us know if you need further assistance inn this.

Regards,
Vijayasurya A
