ion-range control not updating it's value on form submission

Hi,

I was trying to add a comment from a form placed inside a modal to thelist of comments appearing against the dish on it's dishdetail page .

What I was getting?

All the form controls  were returning the updated values except the ,ion-range.> which was only returning it's default value., everytime 

Why the ,ion-range.> control value is not being updated on selecting a new value?

How to fix it?
