sfTabView does not re-render when loaded inside MasterDetailsPage

The first time navigation to the ContentPage that has a sfTabView on it works but after navigating away and then navigating back the sfTabView does not render at all. i modified a standard xamarin.forms master detail template to include an sfTabView on one of the pages (about page). you can reproduce this behavior simply by navigating to the about page and seeing the tabview render correctly, then navigating back to the home page, and then navigating back to the about page and seeing a blank white page with no tabview.
