Navigation Drawer Auto Closes

Hi,

I've run into two issues with the Navigation Drawer:

First, once it is opened, it auto-closes when I tap on an area outside the drawer.  Is there any way to keep the drawer open at all times until I explicitly close it?

Second, when the drawer is open, the main view has a shaded overlay.  Is there any way to prevent that shading?

What I'm trying to achieve is identical to what is presented in this article:  https://winstongubantes.blogspot.com/2017/11/creating-draggable-sliding-up-panel-in.html

I am displaying a map and need to drag a panel up from the bottom to display a listview.  I need both the map and the listview to be visible and to interact with both of them.  Only a swipe or pan gesture on the bottom panel should hide it.

Is there any way to accomplish this with the SfNavigationDrawer?  Or should I be using a different technique or control?

Thanks,
Dean

Hi Dean Martin,

Greetings from Syncfusion,

Queries: “First, once it is opened, it auto-closes when I tap on an area outside the drawer.  Is there any way to keep the drawer open at all times until I explicitly close it?

Second, when the drawer is open, the main view has a shaded overlay.  Is there any way to prevent that shading?”

We have analyzed the requested requirement with our SfNavigationDrawer control. In our current implementation, we cannot access the MainContent when the Drawer is in open state [cannot interact both the content and the drawer content in the same time] and also, we cannot remove the shading in the Content view.

We have considered this as a valid feature and logged a feature report for this requirement. Currently we don’t have a plan, so this feature will be available in any of our upcoming Volume release.

Please let us know if you have any other concern.

Regards,
Paul Anderson
