Hi Nilesh,

Sorry for Inconvenience.

We have prepared a simple sample using a ContentView based page having an instance of SfTabView to another ContentView based page. We are unable to reproduce the reported issue. Could you please check the sample and please modify the sample to replicate the reported issue which provide appropriate solution for this

Please modify the sample as per your scenario so that we can reproduce the issue and help you resolving the issue at your end. Also we are not clear with the lines you have mentioned “RegisterAssembly(typeof(Syncfusion.XForms.TabView.SfTabView).Assembly)” and its need in the sample.

Please let us know if you have any other concern.

Regards,
Paul Anderson

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your input. I am experiencing this issue while working on the design of my XAML pages using Gorilla server.
So far, I have registered required assemblies in AppDelegate.cs and MainActivity.cs as shown below -
Let me know your input on this. As stated in the #129310, I started experiencing these issues in my App only after adding these SF controls.
In Android, my App is not even opening when I have my XAML page with SFTabView control set to be rendered via Gorilla Player.

Please help.
                        //Register Syncfusion Controls
                        //SfTabView
                        .RegisterAssembly(typeof(Syncfusion.XForms.TabView.SfTabView).Assembly)
                        .RegisterAssembly(typeof(Syncfusion.XForms.iOS.TabView.SfTabViewRenderer).Assembly)
                        //SfListView
                        .RegisterAssembly(typeof(Syncfusion.ListView.XForms.SfListView).Assembly)
                        .RegisterAssembly(typeof(Syncfusion.ListView.XForms.iOS.SfListViewRenderer).Assembly)
                        //SfPicker
                        .RegisterAssembly(typeof(Syncfusion.SfPicker.XForms.SfPicker).Assembly)
                        .RegisterAssembly(typeof(Syncfusion.SfPicker.XForms.iOS.SfPickerRenderer).Assembly)

Thanks

Hi Nilesh,

Sorry for the inconvinience.

On #129310, we have already mentioned that the custom control was not supported on the Gorilla player and we have raised the ticket on the GitHub. So, we would also like to know the purpose of using gorilla player on our Syncfusion controls, which will be more helpful for us to provide better solution on this. Also let us now if you face any issues without using Gorilla player?

Regards,
Paul Anderson

Hi Paul,

That's incorrect. Any third party controls / assemblies are absolutely supported by Gorilla player.
I am using some other ones with no issues.

Gorilla player / SDK is used to preview XAML changes in real time.
I am not using Gorilla player over Syncfusion controls … rather I am using Syncfusion controls in my XAML pages while rendering them in Gorilla player /SDK.

This issue is around SfTabView control. Please take a fresh look at this.

Thanks

Hi Nilesh,

Sorry for the inconvenience.

We have checked our SfTabView on Gorilla player, but it is not showing anything on the Gorilla player application. Since our Tabview is inherited from view, we created a simple custom view in the Xamarin Forms and added that View on XAML page (Custom view is inherited from View) and experienced the same behaviour on this. i.e., it shows “Gorilla SDK needed” popup. So, we have a raised query for the same on the GitHub.

We will let you know once we get the solution for this on GitHub.

Regards,
Paul Anderson

Hello Paul,

I have been still waiting on your input.
In the meantime can you please discuss this issue with the support team member who is helping me with another NullException error on SfCalendar control.
The issue is under my a/c directtrac https://www.syncfusion.com/support/directtrac/incidents/218249

Thanks

Hi Nilesh,

Thanks for your response.

Query: “Regarding Gorilla player”

We could not reproduce the issue “SfTabView control is not working on Gorilla player. We have prepared a sample for the same and recorded a working output. Please download the same from the link given below.

Sample link:

If the issue gets reproduced at your end, please update us with modified sample along with the replication procedure for the issue, this could help us to provide better solution on this.

Paul Anderson
