16.3.0.21 update packages not appearing in VS NuGet

Hi, a number of packages are not showing up as a updates in NuGet for16.3.0.21.

For example, Syncfusion.Compression.Base, Syncfusion.Pdf.Base and Syncfusion.XlsIO.Base are not appearing as updates. They do appear within the Browse list with the most up-to-date version number.

Hi Mathew,

Thanks for contacting Syncfusion support.

We are providing the new packages with corresponding platform for each Syncfusion Base packages. Please refer the below URL to get all the PDF packages.

You can get the Syncfusion.Pdf.Base assembly for Asp.Net by installing the Syncfusion.Pdf.AspNet NuGet package. So, please uninstall the Base packages and install the corresponding platform packages.

Note: The Syncfusion.Compression.Base assembly will be installed when installing the Syncfusion.Pdf.AspNet package.

Kannan

Kannan,

Thanks for the info. Now, the real question in response to your answer:

How in blue blazes is anyone supposed to know this? I wasted a few hours yesterday trying to figure out why my app broke after installing the licensing update. Unless I asked this question here, there was no way I would have known that you refactored the NuGet packages and I would have to uninstall all my NuGet packages and reinstall a set of new ones. This was really poorly thought out and very customer unfriendly (especially to the paying customers).

Hi Matthew,

Sorry for the inconvenience,

We have updated the NuGet package naming changes in our all the platform Release Notes for customers to get the changes. Please refer the Asp.Net Web Forms release notes below.

Kannan,

You don't understand the issue. I never, ever see the release notes when use NuGet (especially in VS2017). I just load VS NuGet, see the updates, click and go. It gives me a list of packages to update and I update date them.

Because I no longer long into the web site, I don't see the any "notes". In fact, when I did log into the site to get the key, there was nothing there to say "Whoa! We changed our NuGet packaging and your current packages will not longer be updated. You need to read this to be able to keep your packages up-to-date and not break you applications and waste lots of time trying to figure out what is wrong!"
