Hi Eren,

Thanks for using Syncfusion product.

We have tried to reproduce your scenario using below attached sample with following test cases in Syncfusion product version 16.2.0.41 and 16.2.0.46,

  1. Tried by changing the selection using mouse button
  2. Tried by changing the selection using up/down key navigation.
  3. Tried by changing the selection using mouse wheel
  4. Tried by changing selected index programmatically.

But, the sample is working fine as we expected. So, we suspect that this issue may occur based on your customization. So, please provide more details if it is help to reproduce the reported scenario or please let us know the following sample differ from your customization.

This  reply is over a year past the original post but it may be relevant. If you have autocomplete mode set to suggest/append, the selectedindexchanged event fires for every keystroke. This is extremely annoying and has cause me to stop using sfcombobox.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your update.

We have checked the reported problem in our end and found that SelectedIndexChanged event is fired on key press, even the item is already is selected. So we have logged the issue reported for this bug and you can track this by using the below feedback link,

The fix will be available in our upcoming 2020 Volume 1 SP1 release which is scheduled to be rolled out at the Mid of February 2019. Would waiting for the official release work for you? Otherwise, we can provide a patch on December 23rd, 2019.

If you have any more specification replication procedure or a scenario to be tested you can add it as a comment.

Jagadeesan

I can wait until the sp1 release. I have  moved the code i needed to run when user changes selection of sfcombobox to the validating event and test if value of new text is same as old, which I save on enter event. I have another. much more important problem This one is a show stopper. I've created a new post.
