Problem with FileExplorer upload with Edge

Hi,

There is a big problem with your FileExplorer component and Microsoft Edge Navigator.

With your sample generated with SampleCreator, when you try to upload a file, you'll get an exception :
System.NotSupportedException : 'The given path's format is not supported.'
and after : 500 Internal Server Error

Of course with Firefox, Chrome… Uploads work perfectly.

Regards,
FreD.

Hi FreD,

We have checked your problem at our end. In our FileExplorer component, upload functionality is not working properly in Microsoft Edge Browser. We have confirmed this as a bug. We will fix and include the solution in our upcoming service pack release (Vol 2 SP1, 2018) release.

Thx, i'll stay aware for your next release.

I have a little question, i see that it's possible to upload multiple files, but is it possible to download multiple files at once too ?
Because i tried to select multiple files, but only one file is downloaded.

Hi FreD,

Query:  i see that it's possible to upload multiple files, but is it possible to download multiple files at once too ?

Currently we don’t have the option to download more than one files in FileExplorer. We will consider this as an improvement at end. We will implement this improvement and include the solution on our upcoming Vol 3,2018 release.

Thank you for your answer.

I would like to mask the uploading box. I think i can do this with "upload-box-settings" attribute ?
But i can't find any documentation. How can i hide this box please ? Can you explain me the parameters ?

Thx by advance
Fred.

Yes, you can use showFileDetails and autoUpload attribute to hide the uploadbox in FileExplorer component. Please check the below code block.
[CSHTML]

<ej-file-explorer id="default" path="wwwroot/images/FileExplorer" layout="LargeIcons" ajax-action="@Url.Content("FileActionDefault")" width="100%" is-responsive="true">

<e-file-ajax-settings>
     <e-download url="/FileExplorer/Download{0}"></e-download>
     <e-get-image url="/FileExplorer/GetImage{0}"></e-get-image>
     <e-upload url="/FileExplorer/Upload{0}"></e-upload>
</e-file-ajax-settings>

<e-file-upload-settings auto-upload="true" show-file-details="false"></e-file-upload-settings>

</ej-file-explorer>

To know more details about this property, please check the below API document.

Thx for the update, but i have exactly the same problem (error 500 when uploading files with Microsoft Edge).

Maybe i missed Something when i update my Syncfusion components.

The javascript version are 16.2.0.41 and i've installed the ASP.NET JS1 version with the download link you provided, but i think it is not enough because the nuget's dependancies of my solution still shows : Syncfusion.EJ.AspNet.Core (16.1600.0.32), and i can't find any updates in the nuget manager.

Other problem, i've Added in my startup.cs file the line : Syncfusion.Licensing.SyncfusionLicenseProvider.RegisterLicense("MjczOEAz...");
But system can't find any reference to the licensing dll.

What am i doing wrong please ?

Hi Fred,

Query 1: i can't find any updates in the nuget manager.

Yes. We have provided the solution on your reported problem for our updated Syncfusion.ASP.NET Core (16.2.0.41), so we need to update the corresponding packages.

We have published the updated nuget packages in online. Please check the details in below location.

And updated package is shown in version dropdown list, please change it to update the latest version (16.2.0.41)

Query 2: Other problem, i've Added in my startup.cs file the line. Syncfusion.Licensing.SyncfusionLicenseProvider.RegisterLicense("MjczOEAz...");But system can't find any reference to the licensing dll.

Syncfusion introduced the licensing system from v16.2.0.41 for Syncfusion NuGet packages and evaluation setup.

We suspect that, you missed to install or refer to the corresponding Syncfusion License package in your application. Please check the below image.

Sample Link:

If you are using the NuGet packages, then you must generate the license key and register on your application to launch without licensing error. Refer the below links to generate and register the license key.

Thx, uploads work perfectly with Edge now.

But you should remove if possible your 16.1600.0.32 Nuget package version because Nuget Always propose it as a new version (1600 > 2).

Fred.

AB Ashokkumar Balasubramanian Syncfusion Team July 5, 2018 11:31 AM UTC

Hi Fred,

We will remove 16.1xxx.0.24, 16.1xxxx.0.26 and 16.1xxxx.0.32 release version Syncfusion NuGet packages for ASP.NET Core platform from our Syncfusion private server on Monday (9th July 2018). We will update packages details once Syncfusion ASP.NET Core packages changes ensured from our end.

Thx for your answer.

I'm testing your new version of FileExplorer and i have a big problem. I hope you will be able to reproduce it.

I have generated FileExplorer example with SampleCreator. When i upload one or more files (by drag and drop or upload button), it works well. Files are succesfully uploaded.

When i upload the same files again, files uploaded are empty ! Their size are 0 byte length !! And then, all the upload i try are empty files.

Can you check it please ?

Thx, i'm glad you can reproduce the bug, i was afraid it was my configuration. I spent a lot of time to understand what was wrong.

Do you have an idea when the SP1 pack will be released ?
