Label with dynamically assigned text

Hello!

I am currently trying to find a solution to a (maybe easy to solve) problem.
I want to display a text within a label which has to be created dynamically. The text depends on a parameter value (integer) which then will be used to load the corresponding text from a data source.
All I could find was the possibility to set the text with a formatting expression like {{:function(DataSource_Name.Column_Name)}}
But I was not able to find a solution on how to handle text as there was only Count for text values but it is not the number of entries I want to display, it is the name itself.

Any suggestions?!?

Hi Nellinger, 

    

To satisfy the requirement, you can use the label parameter feature. To know, “how to configure the label parameter” please  follow the below link 

https://help.syncfusion.com/dashboard-platform/dashboard-designer/compose-dashboard/configuring-label-parameters 

Syntax : 

   {{:Column Name}} 

In the below screenshot configured  the Label Parameter {{:ShowName}} in the label widget. When the filter is applied on the master widget the label parameter will be updated dynamically

Dear Prince,

thanks for the information! I thought that I did it they way it is described in the given link. But it still does not work. I am shown the same string as I have configured in the label without replacing the parameter. I have attached a picture which shows the data source as well as my label config and the dashboard itself. Do you see any mistake?

Thanks for your response. 

In the shared Screenshot, you added the label parameter as in {{:(dsPlantSectionName.Name)}}. It is in a wrong syntax. 

 Syntax : {{:Data_Source_Name.Column_Name}} 

As per the screenshot, you have to use the label parameter as {{: dsPlantSectionName.Name}} for your data source dsPlantSectionName. 

However the usage of the label parameter in combination with data source is not working in the label widget alone. It is known issue from our side. It will be fixed in the upcoming release which is expected on the mid of May 2018.

So I have to wait for 1 month until this will be working...
In order to get this working, do I have to update the designer, the server or both softwares as soon as the new version has been released?

In order to get this working, do I have to update the designer, the server or both softwares as soon as the new version has been released?	Yes, you need to update both Dashboard designer and Dashboard server, as the issue fixed in the Viewer which affects both Dashboard designer preview and Dashboard server.

so now I have waited for more than a month and the new release of dashboard anounced for mid of may is still not available.

When will the new version be published and be available for download?

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by repeatedly postponing the release date for the dashboard platform.    

  

Most of the work has already been completed and we are in the final stages of QA so we are very confident that we will be able to release in the Month of June.

We have released our beta version  of 3.1 of the dashboard platform with the fix for the reported issue "Label Parameter is not working in combination with the DataSource". 

The following release is a beta version of 3.1 of the dashboard platform. The release is governed by the license (https://s3.amazonaws.com/files2.syncfusion.com/Installs/DashboardServer/v3.1.0.113/syncfusion+dashboard+platform+license.pdf), however, may have additional features, open source or dependencies that will not be declared until the official release. If you do not agree to accept the risk of additional open source or dependencies, do not download the beta release of version 3.1.  The Parties agree, Syncfusion has no liability in any form for the beta version.
