Need for a simple MVC 4.0 project that demonstrates the PDFViewer capabilities

Hi,
I was following different tutorials to build the most basic ASP.NET MVC 4.0 project with VS 2013, to display a PDF in the PDFViewer, but with no success.
It seems that the documentation is not up to date.
Can anybody from Syncfusion to send me a very simple project that uses a PDFViewer and I can demo to a client?
If everything works well, we plan to buy the license.
Thank you,
Ionel.

Hi Ionel,

Thank you for contacting Syncfusion support.

We have created the ASP.NET MVC sample with Visual Studio 2013 to display a PDF in PDF Viewer control and share the same in the following location.

We regret for the inconvenience, in the UG document we have mentioned to place the document in App_Data folder but in the code snippet we have loaded the PDF document from Data folder. We will update the UG documentation as soon as possible. Please try the above sample and let us know if you need any other assistance.

Regards,
Akshaya

Hi Akshaya,
Thank you for your example. It was exactly what I wanted.

While testing one of our PDF file, I noticed that the search does not work very well. It will not highlight the found matches exactly. Are you aware of this issue?

Also, does Syncfusion have an API that will search within a PDF? We are looking to extend our website search to look into the PDF files as well.

Thank you!
Ionel.

Please find attached the PDF.
Please look at how on pages 4-7, there are places where duplicate characters (f for example), and also how there are words with two characters (Twitter is an example) where one letter gets dropped (a t usually)

Thank you!

Hi Ionel,

Thank you for your update.

We can reproduce the issues “Search instances are not highlighted properly for the provided PDF document” and “Some characters are not rendered in PDF Viewer control”. The fix for these issues will be included in our Volume 1 SP2 release which is expected to roll out in the end of April 2018.

Please let us know if you need any other assistance on this.

Regards,
Akshaya
