How to connect and display a dashboard using a mobile app

Hello,

I am currently exploring the Dashboard platform regarding mobile apps development. I have used Syncfusion's example from the online documentation to create a test app for connecting to the Dashboard server running on IIS. I managed to get the app working to connect to the server but I get an error DV008 when retrieving the dashboard. My demo dashboard as well as the sample dashboards give the same error, none works. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong here so I appriciate your help in this one to get me up and running. Therefore I have some questions:

  1. Does the app to include a login in the url and how to do that? Or does the app need to login prior to dashboard retrieval?
  2. Must the dashboard be public visible?
  3. Any other suggestions or proposals?
Thanks in advance,
Johan Laagland.

Hi Laagland,

Thanks for using Syncfusion product!

Can you please provide us the below details to know your exact requirement?

I am currently exploring the Dashboard platform regarding mobile apps development.
Do you want to show the dashboard as part of your mobile app or you want to list all the dashboards and render them in the mobile app something similar to Syncfusion Dashboard Mobile
I have used Syncfusion's example from the online documentation to create a test app for connecting to the Dashboard server running on IIS.
Did you refer the anyone of the below link?

If yes, please mention the serviceUrl and dashboardPath which you have used to render the dashboard in the mobile app and where did you get those URL and path?

Please let us know if you have any queries.

Regards,
Karthik

Dear Karthik,

  1. The mobile app will be something similar to Syncfusion Dashboard Mobile but without explicit login by a user. That login by the app running on multiple mobile phones or tablets must be embedded in code, f.i. in the http URL or in c#.
  2. This one has been used: https://help.syncfusion.com/dashboard-platform/dashboard-sdk/getting-started/xamarin-app.
  3. serviceUrl: 'http://192.168.200.184:50451/DashboardService.svc',dashboardPath: 'http://192.168.200.184:49451/dashboards/Sample%20Dashboards/Manufacturing%20Dashboard.sydx'
Cheers,
Johan.
