Hi Wouter, 

Thanks for contacting Syncfusion’s support. 

If we edit and save the record without changing any value, the save request will be trigger and unnecessarily post-back to the server to save the unchanged record and we have corrected this behavior as like the save action will be trigger when only any one of the field value is changed on the currently edited record otherwise it will cancel the editing action.
