Number format for Filter Value field automatically sets to be #,###.##

Hi:
We are using ejGrid with the filter on a Year column. When the user moves away from the Filter Value field, the number format automatically changes to #,###.##

Since it is a Year column, we would like the number format to stay as is. How can this be changed?
