ValueToCoefficient returns NaN

Hello,
When I call ValueToCoefficient from a LogarithmicAxis, the value returned is (consistently) NaN. Why is that so? And how can I get around it?
Here is the code I used to do so:

LogarithmicAxis laxis = dataGraph.SecondaryAxis as LogarithmicAxis;
float num = (float) laxis.ValueToCoefficient(yValue);
