Are nested groups compatible with column formatting?

This works:

«BeginGroup:SystemInfo»«SystemName»«BeginGroup:ItemInfo»

«I-Description»«I-ManufacturerModel»                                                                       «I-QtyUnit»                                                                                                                                  «I-$TotalLineItem»

«EndGroup:ItemInfo»«EndGroup:SystemInfo»

But this doesn't (see attachment):

«BeginGroup:SystemInfo»«SystemName»«BeginGroup:ItemInfo»

«I-Description»–«I-ManufacturerModel»

«I-QtyUnit» «I-$TotalLineItem»

«EndGroup:ItemInfo»«EndGroup:SystemInfo»

Hi Joshua,

Thank you for your interest in Syncfusion products.

On analysing further on the attached template document, we have noticed that GroupStart and corresponding GroupEnd is preserved in different sections. Currently DocIO provides support for mail merge groups only within the same section or text body and doesn’t support separation of a group among multiple sections during mail merge. We have already logged this as a feature request in our database and we don’t have any immediate plans to implement his feature. We will implement this feature in any of our upcoming releases. We usually have an interval of at least three months between releases. The feature implementation would also greatly depend on the factors such as product design, code compatibility and complexity. Please log on to our support website to check for further updates:

As a workaround kindly define the GroupStart and GroupEnd within the same section in order perform successful mail merge operation. We have prepared a sample to illustrate the same with modified template. Please find the sample from below link and let us know if this helps you.

Hi Joshua,

Regarding Column formatting with nestedmail merge:
It is necessary to have “Iteminfo” group in a separate section to meet your requirement with respect to column break. But DocIO current doesn’t support for mail merge with group among multiple sections. As a work around you shall keep the “ItemInfo” group in a table in the template document and then perform mail merge. We have prepared a sample in this approach. Please find the modified sample from below link.
