MS Office Documents Viewer

Hello,

During the last Xamarin Evolve,  we had the pleasure (thanks to Hilary B.)  to preview a docx, xlsx viewer from Syncfusion for Android/iOS using Xamarin. Today I downloaded all the samples for Xamarin in your website but nothing  about that viewer.

Is this control in the Market? Or it will be with the next realease of the Syncfusion controls for Xamarin?

We are evaluating controls to integrate in our product for viewing MS Office documents.

Let me know the status of this viewer.

Best Regards,

Ilber

Hi Llber,

Thank you for using Syncfusion products.

At this moment DocIO doesn’t support document editor in the Xamarin platform. We have already logged this as a feature request in our database. We will implement this feature in any of our upcoming releases. The feature implementation would also greatly depend on the factors such as product design, code compatibility and complexity. We will update you when this feature has been implemented.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Nithya

Is there any update to this request which is almost 2 years old?  There is a lot of demand for this capability on Xamarin platform.

Hi,   I am looking for a way to view Word, Excel and PowerPoint docs in Xamarin.Forms.  I know that you guys support html export (via HTMLExport class) for viewing word files, but what about excel and powerpoint?  Is there a way i can export to either html or pdf since you guys don't have a native way to preview office files?  We were actually counting on this functionality when we purchased your product..

Thank you.

Hi Alex,

Thank you for using Syncfusion support.

Currently we don’t have support for viewing Excel and PowerPoint documents in Xamarin.Forms as like Word document (using Word to HTML conversion). We will consider your requirement as a feature and we will implement this feature in our any of upcoming releases.
We usually have an interval of at least three months between releases. This feature implementation would also greatly depend on the factors such as product design, code compatibility and complexity. We request you to check our website periodically for feature related updates.

Let us know if you have any concern.

Regards,
Vijay R
