We have not planned beta version for Orubase 3.0 and also we would like to inform you that the Orubase 3.0 is expected to be rolled out by the last week of May 2014.

Let us hope that its worth waiting for and not just a minor UI update...

However i'm not sure what to expect as sf is not really willing to share anything

We apologize for the delay in responding.

 

The next release for Orubase has been planned for early August 2014. The main focus of the release will be around a completely revamped set of UI controls including support for iOS 7 and Android 4.x.

 

The future direction for Orubase will also be greatly influenced by the recent announcements from Microsoft regarding officially adding support for developing cross platform (iOS, Android, Windows Phone and WinRT) Apache Cordova applications within Visual Studio. We are currently analyzing all possibilities for better integration with Apache Cordova and Visual Studio.

We would like to inform you that Orubase is being integrated with Apache Cordova in the upcoming release (Orubase 3.0). Orubase will have access with Cordova API’s which supports latest versions of Windows, Android and iOS7. Cordova provides work around solutions for iOS 8 and they will give support for iOS 8 once it is officially announced.

Hi, Will the new version be able to upgrade existing projects? Will you also have a project to build on the Mac, for IOS applications, or is the product becoming more of an hybrid application builder?

I like the current approach. It sets you apart from the other projects. I do understand it takes a lot more development effort to take your approach.

The existing Orubase projects cannot be directly upgraded to the latest versions. However Orubase 3.0 is compatible with Orubase 2.1 and we will update the details regarding the new functions and migration table for the changes in online documentation once Orubase 3.0 is rolled out.

 

Regarding “iOS application development in Orubase 3.0”

 

Orubase 3.0 supports Hybrid application (iOS, Android and Windows) development within Visual Studio itself. Remote MAC needs to be configured with Visual Studio  and IOS Native application (which is buildable in MAC) will be copied to MAC for building IOS the Application from Visual Studio.

Is there a time-frame for the Orubase 3.0 release? It seems like there is a big change in direction. Do you think it will be by the end of the year? Should I wait or build a new app with Orubase 2.1?

We deeply regret for the delay in Orubase 3.0 release which is tentatively scheduled to be released in the second week of October, 2014. So we suggest you to wait for the release of Orubase 3.0 since it includes Apache Cordova integration and completely revamped set of UI controls as we informed you earlier. We appreciate your patience until then.

As per our previous updates, Orubase 3.0 supports Hybrid application (iOS, Android and Windows Phone) development within Visual Studio itself. In addition to this, Orubase 3.0 also supports Cordova Native Application for iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms along with completely revamped set of UI controls.
