Reloading UpdatePanel Using Timer Contorl Not Updating The Diagarm

I am using 10.4.0.71  diagram control flow diagram sample in my application and I am adding new nodes based on the values in the database after certain interval.But the diagram does not update until I click over the diagram.Secondly the diagram disappears for few seconds and loads again.Please provide appropriate details for these Issues.
