error when appending PDF documents

I get this error when using the Syncfusion.Pdf.PDFDocument.Append() method.

"Invalid/unknown/unsupported PDF format. There is no endstream operator."

This error occurs regularly only with PDFs we receive from a certain company. Error does not occur with any other PDFs. However the problematic PDFs open fine in any PDF reader.
