How can I change a TAB control selected tab from a JavaScript function running on the client side?

Our application uses *lots* of JavaScript and we often need to act upon the controls from JavaScript functions running in the client.  I would need to change tab based on some selection in other controls.

More generally, aside from ClientSide events, how do you interact with Tool Controls from the client?
