GridGroupingControl or GridDataBoundGrid

We have been using GridDataBoundGrid extensively in our application for some time now. I have have just started looking at the GridGroupingControl object.

I wanted to know what the similarities/differences between the 2 are. When it might be appropriate to use one over the other.

(is it even valid to compare the 2).

If you could point me in the right direction for documentation to look at, I would really appreciate it.
