Convert to number?

Having an issue setting a row to a number and subsequently currency but I think it might be the way I am embedding the data into the excel sheet and I am not sure what I can do about this. When in the excel sheet after I generate it you will notice (attached jpg image) that I have to "Convert to Number" before I can make the row a currency value. Is there anything I can do in xlsio or maybe in the way I load the data to get this row to be currency from the start?
