Syncfusion Feedback

Matt Fara

Matt Fara has been using Syncfusion, Inc. Essential Studio Enterprise Edition for the WinRT and .NET 4.5 platforms for more than 6 months. Fara originally heard about Syncfusion while using a competitor’s product at a Windows 8 event. At the time, he was looking for components for his Windows Store app. Fara chose Syncfusion over other products because it was the only one that provided support for PDF, Word, and Excel. XLS, DOC, and PDF files are the most common file formats used today, and there are many benefits for developers who are able to read, write, and process these files. However, as Fara and other developers like him have experienced, processing these files is not always an easy task due to the complexity of their formats and the changes that have been introduced to them over the past several years.

The Challenge

Fara wanted to create a line-of-business app using Syncfusion’s award-winning Essential Studio controls. His idea for the app came from an older payroll desktop application he was using to manage payroll records. He wanted to keep the existing data and import it into his app to improve usability in a way that would benefit many types of projects. With Essential XIsIO, Fara exported the payroll records to Excel files, and was then able to use Essential XIsIO to import that data into his new mobile application.

The Solution

Fara was able to find everything he needed to create his app using over 400 controls provided in Syncfusion Essential Studio. He created a complete project management app which helps users track expenses and labor, generate quotes and invoices, and create profitability reports. Fara saved a lot of time using Syncfusion products and looks forward to further inspiration from upcoming product releases. Although the line-of-business app is intended for mobile devices, it is expected to expand to desktop and web applications in the near future. Part of Fara’s plan for the app includes the addition of XLS support to generate an invoice or quote.
