Research Triangle Park, N.C., August 20, 2018 — After two weeks of collecting, Syncfusion®’s RTP office exceeded its goal and raised $2,741 for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina’s quest to feed hungry children over the summer. With the buying power of the Food Bank, this provides 13,705 meals to the Raleigh community.
“Serving the community is both a duty and a privilege,” said Jaclyn Vidusic, Syncfusion® general counsel. “Keeping local children fed for the summer fulfills an immediate need, but also has long-term positive impact on their well-being, and therefore the long-term well-being of our home. Working with the Food Bank is always the obvious choice, since 97% of our donations go straight to food distribution.”
For many children in North Carolina, school is the only place they eat during the year. During the summer, families struggle to make up for losing access to that supply of nutrition. This is where the Food Bank of comes in to pick up the slack. The Raleigh branch helps an estimated 265 thousand people, 89 thousand of them children, who are food insecure in the area, providing 23 million meals in 2017. Syncfusion® hopes that there will be more meals provided, and always fewer needed, this year than last year.
