Syncfusion announces Essential Studio® Service Pack Release Version 3.3 for Microsoft.NET

Research Triangle Park, NC - September 6, 2005 - Syncfusion, Inc. announced the release of Service Pack Release Version 3.3 of Essential Studio®, its industry-leading line of .NET components for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET developers. Service Pack Release Version 3.3 introduces new features across Essential Studio®'s full range of products and includes enhancements to the suite's Visual Studio 2005 support. Essential Studio® 3.3 also marks the official release of Essential Grid for ASP.NET.

Tightened integration with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Version 2005 Beta 2 is one of the noteworthy features of Essential Studio® 3.3. This latest version builds on the VS 2005 support of earlier Essential Studio® releases. It allows developers to take full advantage of Visual Studio 2005's numerous productivity-enhancing features.

Essential Grid for ASP.NET has now been released in full with superior performance, a wide range of features, and high compatibility with Visual Studio 2005. It includes CSS Styles support as well as a new Web Control-based Memory Image Control. There is support for Preview rows and complete Whidbey design-time and runtime support. New Whidbey samples have also been added that illustrate how to use the new Whidbey data sources with the web grid.

"We are very excited about the release of Essential Grid for ASP.NET," said Stefan Hoenig, CEO of Syncfusion. "Customers have been asking us to release an ASP.NET version of our popular Windows Forms grid, and we hope that our customers will enjoy using Essential Grid for ASP.NET."

Essential PDF has been updated to include Right-to-Left support as well as support for attaching files.

Essential ExcelRW has been renamed to Essential XlsIO to better reflect the product's functionality. Essential XlsIO Version 3.3 introduces support for copying worksheets between spreadsheets. Worksheets with text, formatting, comments, and pictures can now be copied from one workbook to another. This latest release also includes the ability to update formulas when a row is inserted. In addition, Essential XlsIO's performance when opening template spreadsheets has also been enhanced.

Essential Chart has a new user interactivity feature included and a toolbar that can be used for exposing functionality to end users. Additionally, to increase flexibility, support has been added for exporting a wider variety of file formats. Interactive cursors that allow for the selection of specific sections of the chart interactively have been added as well as support for grayscale printing. Performance of this product has been improved, especially when resizing with a large number of points.

Essential Grouping's performance has been enhanced with optimizations of WithoutCounter and CounterLogic demonstrated in the EngineOptimizations example. The engine determines whether records actually need to be broken into pieces or if records can be returned as leave elements. Additionally, Essential Grouping is also fully compatible with Visual Studio 2005.

Essential Tools contains a number of enhancements including large image support for GroupBarItems and an Image Padding property that allows for more customization of TreeViewAdv. There have been great strides to reduce flickering. XP Menus run smoothly during MDI merging, and auto-completion support has been restored to ComboBoxAdv and MultiColumnComboBox. Docking Windows can now be floated in a multiple monitor situation.

Essential HTMLUI now includes different list number styles support allowing all types of ordered lists to be used. Support for subscript and superscript tags as well as support for Link-Clicked events has been added. Loading an HTML file after loading a CSS file no longer resets styles, and table cell text aligns properly when the colspan is not uniform across all rows.

Essential Diagram now features automatic line routing and automatic line bridging of Orthogonal lines. The Essential Diagram printing infrastructure has been enhanced, and it now supports features such as printing culture-specific headers and footers, borders, scalable printing, and scale-to-fit printing. The program now uses a property cache to improve the look-up time for frequently accessed properties. This provides a significant improvement in the update and hit-testing time when using complex models.
