Checklist for upgrade from 3.2 to 4.2

We are upgrading from 3.2 to 4.2. Is the following checklist complete for this process?

1. Download & install the latest release. (After this step most Syncfusion assemblies in "references" in our Visual Studio projects seem to have the updated version number.)

2. Rename all ExcelRW namespaces in code to XlsIO

3. Remove referneces to ExcelRW assemblies and add references to XlsIO

4. If we receive warnings during compilation, rename obsolete methods with their new alternatives.

4. Replace assemblies packaged for deployment to the end-user with the new versions. Replace deployed ExcelRW assemblies with XlsIO.

Does this cover all of the required steps? Are there any additional renamed assemblies other than XlsIO?

We are using VS2003 and Framework 1.1. Are there any additional steps required for this setup?

On a somewhat related side note, the new sample browser seems to require Framework 2.0. Was this planned?

Thanks.

Hi Oz,

I regret for the long delay in getting back to you on this issue.

Yes, these steps cover the most required for the upgrade. Please refer the following document that shows how to configure the machine for the multiple installations(using both the 3.x and the 4.x versions).

For the sample browser issue, I will get back to you with an update tomorrow.

Thank you for your patience.

Regards,
Nanda

Nanda:

Thanks. The additional steps in that document actually fixed a minor issue that occured after my steps causing all projects to always rebuild.
