Configure Visual Studio Toolbox manually

ToolBox installation:

1. Open VisualStudio and please check if you have a Syncfusion tab already in your toolbox. If you have one, please delete that tab from the toolbox.

2. Go to ''{install_drive}:\Program Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\{essential_studio_version}\Utilities\'' and rename the ''Assembly Manager'' and ''Toolboxinstaller'' folders.

3. Unzip the utilities from the below location and place them in the ''{install_drive}:\Program Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\{essential_studio_version}\Utilities'' folder. [Download attachment] http://www.syncfusion.com/support/user/uploads/Utilities.zip

4. Now from Dashboard, run the Assembly Manager and select remove all. This will remove all the Syncfusion assemblies from the installed locations.

5. Check the configure toolbox checkbox in the assembly manager and select installation of the required configuration assemblies in the assembly manager. It will configure the toolbox for the required framework along with the installation of the required framework Syncfusion assemblies.

Note:

With this assembly manager, you can configure your machine for one standard framework at a time, either 2.0 or 3.5. If 2.0 is selected, VS2005 toolbox will be configured and if 3.5 is selected, VS2008 toolbox and WPF toolbox will be configured. Also, the toolbox installation will not support Express editions of Visual Studio.

Manually configuring VS Toolbox:

To configure VS Toolbox manually for Syncfusion tools, please do the following.

1. Run the assembly manager and configure the machine for the Syncfusion assemblies installation as said in the first four points.

2. Open the VisualStudio and create a new tab called Syncfusion.

3. Select all the Syncfusion assemblies from ''C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSEnv\PublicAssemblies'' and drag and drop them in the newly created Syncfusion toolbox tab.

4. Now the VS toolbox will be configured.
