How do i target Syncfusion .NET framework 2.0 assemblies in VS2008?

1 min read

Syncfusion Essential Studio V6.3.0.x is shipped with both .NET framework 2.0 and .NET framework 3.5 compatible assemblies.

At the time of installation .NET framework 2.0 assemblies were targeted for VS2005 and .NET framework assemblies were targeted for VS2008.

When you use .NET framework 2.0 in VS2008 then the .NET framework 3.5 syncfusion assemblies installed in the toolbox gets hidden.

Steps to be followed to use .NET framework 2.0 Syncfusion assemblies in VS2008:

  • Delete the assemblies which is present in the below location.

[Default Drive]:\Program Files\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\v3.5

  • Now please open the VS2008 IDE with .NET framework 2.0 application.

Under the toolbox , create a Tab Named "Syncfusion2_0". Then select that tab Named "Syncfusion2_0" and right-click to select "Choose Items" which makes the "Choose Items" dialog box to appear.

  • Select the Syncfusion entries from the dialog box to add syncfusion controls to the toolbox. If you can''t find any entries in the dialog box then press the"Browse" button and add the Syncfusion dlls from the following location.

[Default Drive]:\Program Files\Syncfusion\Essential Studio\6.3.0.X \precompiledassemblies\6.3.0.X \2.0

Note:

The above procedure is also applicable for V6.2.0.x
