Resolving “Windows update or other software not working” in Syncfusion installed machine

 

This problem is caused by Microsoft cumulative security update 896688 and not directly by Essential Studio. Installing Essential Studio after this update will cause ActiveX controls on some systems to fail to work in Internet Explorer. Some applications that use Internet Explorer, such as Windows Update, or behave similarly to Internet Explorer, may experience these problems as well.

This error is not version specific and some older installs that may have worked in the past can cause this problem if reinstalled after 896688 has been installed.

To correct this error you can either uninstall 896688 or follow the directions at the Microsoft KB article linked below:
