How to publish dashboard into a specific category from a user account?

We are managing Dashboards under different categories in Dashboard Server and user can publish Dashboards under any of the categories in which they have create access permission. If user doesn’t have create access permission, then administrator should assign permission through Dashboard Server. To assign create access permission, you should follow the below steps.

Step 1: Login to the Dashboard Server.

Step 2: Click on “User Management” option.

 

Step 3: Select “More Option” besides specific user and select “Manage Permission” option to assign permission to the user.

Step 4: Click on “Add Permission” as shown below.

Step 5:

  1. In the “Entity” combo box, you may see access permission for All Dashboards, All Categories, All Data sources, All Widgets, Specific Category, Specific Dashboard, Specific Data Source, Specific Widget and so on. If you want to assign create access permission to a specific category, then choose “Dashboards in Category” option.

  1. Categories are shown in the “Scope” combo box. Select the category in which you want to assign create permission for the user.
  2. Next, you should select “Create” permission in the access mode option.
  3. Finally, go to Dashboard Designer and publish the created dashboard by choosing specific category in “Category” combo box as below,
