How to fix "CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database ‘master’" ?

 

          If you receive the below error message CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database ‘master’, please check whether the user account has “dbcreator” access. If the user account not having the access in SQL Server, please follow the below steps to add the role.

 

 

Step 1: Expand “Security tab”

Step 2: Right click “Login” and select the user account under which you want to create the database.

Step 3: Right click and select properties tab.

Step 4: Under “Server Roles” tab, select “dbcreator” checkbox.

 

Step 5: Click “OK” and try to create database in the user account.

 

If you still face the problem, you can also assign these roles to NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE and DOMAIN\MACHINE_WITH_APPSERVER_NAME$.
