Connecting to Twitter and Facebook from Syncfusion Dashboard

In Dashboard application, you can connect Twitter and Facebook data from REST API via OAuth support. This article provides step by step instructions for generating the Client ID and Client Secret for Twitter and Facebook. Click here to know more about OAuth support in dashboard application.

 

Twitter:

  • Click here to register your application in Twitter development site.
  • Login with your Twitter credential.

  • Fill all the required fields in the registration page.

 

Note: Here, the Callback URL is nothing but the Redirect URL. You need to give a valid Redirect URL for the registration. You can use this Redirect URL exactly in our dashboard as well.

  • Click `Create your Twitter application`. Once the registration completes, you will get Client ID and Client Secret.

 

Facebook:

  • Click here to register your application in Facebook development site.
  • Login with your Facebook credential.

  • Click `Add a New App` available in the right-side corner of the page.

  • Complete the registration process. Get Client Id and Client Secret from the settings option of the created application.

  • In `Facebook Login Product` category, you can see the page with client OAuth settings. Fill all the required fields in the page.

 

Note: Here, the Callback URL is nothing but the Redirect URL. You need to give a valid Redirect URL for the registration. You can use this Redirect URL exactly in our dashboard as well.

 

After getting the Client ID and Client Secret and using the Redirect URL registered, you can now connect the Twitter and Facebook with our dashboard designer.

 

Connecting OAuth using Dashboard Designer

  • Using `Web Data Source` data connection type, you can connect OAuth data.

 

  • Fill the required details in "New Connection" window and click "Get Access" button to provide login information to access your account.
  • On successful access to your account, click "Connect" button to get the data from the corresponding providers. Also, now you will be redirected to the data design view window for creating a dashboard.

  • Drag and drop the tables to create a virtual table for design a dashboard.

 

Binding data to widget

Drag and drop the dimensions and measure in the respective column, row and value fields in-order to design a widget. To know more about widget configuration, click here.

Preview and Publish - Dashboard

Once the dashboard is prepared, you can preview and publish it for global use. User from different part of the world can view and access your dashboard.
